Acceptable Use Policy

This policy exists for a practical reason. When one client on shared infrastructure sends spam or hosts malware, every other client on that infrastructure suffers — blacklisted IP addresses, degraded performance, suspended upstream accounts. These rules protect the people who use our services properly. This policy forms part of our Terms & Conditions.

1. The general principle

Use our services lawfully, honestly, and in a way that does not damage other people or our infrastructure. Most of what follows is an application of that idea rather than a departure from it.

2. Prohibited content

You may not use our services to store, publish, transmit or link to material that:

• Is unlawful in India, the United Kingdom, the United States or the territory in which it is published.
• Sexually exploits or endangers children in any way. We report such material to the relevant authorities without notice and terminate immediately.
• Infringes copyright, trade marks, patents, database rights or trade secrets belonging to someone else.
• Is defamatory, harassing, or incites violence or hatred against people on the basis of a protected characteristic.
• Promotes terrorism or violent extremism.
• Contains malware, ransomware, spyware, cryptominers or any other malicious code.
• Facilitates fraud, phishing, identity theft or the sale of stolen credentials or payment data.
• Breaches export controls or sanctions regimes.

3. Prohibited conduct

3.1 Against our systems and others'

• Attempting to gain unauthorised access to any account, system or network, whether ours or a third party's.
• Probing, scanning or testing the vulnerability of a system without documented written authorisation from its owner.
• Launching or participating in denial-of-service attacks.
• Circumventing authentication, rate limits, usage quotas or billing controls.
• Intercepting traffic or data not intended for you.
• Falsifying your identity, headers or origin in order to disguise the source of anything you send.

3.2 Resource abuse

Shared infrastructure is a shared resource. You may not run processes that consume disproportionate CPU, memory, bandwidth or storage to the detriment of other users. That includes cryptocurrency mining, unattended bulk media transcoding, using hosting primarily as a file-storage or backup depot, and running open proxies, public file-drops or public VPN endpoints.

If your legitimate usage is growing, talk to us. We would far rather move you to an appropriate plan than throttle you.

4. Email and messaging

Unsolicited bulk email is the fastest way to damage the deliverability of every client sharing a mail server, so we take it seriously.

• Send marketing email only to recipients who have given consent, or who fall within a lawful soft opt-in.
• Keep records of how and when consent was obtained.
• Include a working, one-click unsubscribe mechanism in every marketing message, and honour requests promptly.
• Identify the sender accurately. Do not forge headers, spoof domains or use misleading subject lines.
• Do not send to purchased, scraped or rented lists.
• Do not run mail-bombing or subscription-bombing campaigns against anyone.

These requirements reflect the UK Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations, the US CAN-SPAM Act and equivalent laws elsewhere. Where they differ, follow the stricter.

5. Digital marketing services

Where we run search, social or content campaigns for you, you agree not to ask us to:

• Publish claims about your products that you cannot substantiate.
• Post fake reviews or testimonials, or incentivise reviews without disclosure.
• Use manipulative techniques prohibited by the advertising platforms — cloaking, doorway pages, link schemes, private blog networks or scraped content.
• Target advertising in ways that breach platform policies or discrimination law.
• Advertise products or services you are not lawfully permitted to sell in the target market.

We will decline instructions of this kind. Not out of squeamishness — these techniques get accounts banned and domains penalised, and the client bears that damage long after the campaign ends.

6. Security obligations

You are responsible for what happens under your credentials. Please:

• Use strong, unique passwords and enable multi-factor authentication where it is offered.
• Do not share credentials between people; ask us for separate accounts instead.
• Keep any applications, plugins and themes you manage yourself up to date.
• Tell us promptly if you suspect an account has been compromised.

Where a compromise originates from a system under your control and affects our infrastructure, we may recharge the reasonable cost of remediation.

7. Website scraping and automated access

You may not use bots, crawlers or scrapers against troubleshootersit.com except for well-behaved search engine indexing that respects our robots file. You may not systematically extract our content to build a competing dataset or to train a commercial model without written permission.

8. Reporting a violation

If you believe someone is misusing a service we host, email info@troubleshootersit.com with the subject "AUP report". Include the URL or IP address, a description of the problem, and any evidence such as message headers. We acknowledge reports within 2 business days and investigate promptly. Reports concerning child safety or an active security incident are escalated immediately.

9. What we do about violations

Our response is proportionate to the severity and to whether it looks deliberate. In most cases the first step is a conversation, because most breaches are accidental — a compromised plugin, an inherited mailing list, a misconfigured script.

Where we suspend without notice, we will tell you why as soon as it is safe and practical to do so. We do not refund fees for periods of suspension arising from your breach, and we may recover costs we reasonably incur in dealing with it.

10. Legal requests and disclosure

We may preserve and disclose account information and content where we are legally required to, where it is necessary to investigate a suspected breach of this policy, or where disclosure is needed to protect the safety of any person. Where the law permits us to tell you about such a request, we will.

11. Changes to this policy

We will update this policy as threats and platform rules change. The effective date at the top shows the current version. Continuing to use our services after an update means you accept the revised policy.
